New titles, cancelled titles, hardware and charts.

A next-gen Hitman has been cancelled by Square Enix Montreal. While in the same city at same company (but at a different studio), Eidos Montreal are said to be working on an unannounced next-gen title.

FIFA 14 started the year at the top of the pile in this week's chart. In fact, the entire top seven stayed in exactly the same position as last week.

Valve's Gabe Newell has been talking about Half-Life 3, explaining why the the studio doesn't churn out sequels. So still no announcement then...

The exodus at EA continues as Chillingo's founders both depart the company.

DayZ has been selling rather well, and more than expected, so much so that Dean "Rocket" Hall thinks the injection of funds will have "a very positive effect on the roadmap".

Alienware headlines a list of companies that'll be showing off Steam Machines at CES this week. Nvidia are promising a new mobile chip that will outperform Xbox 360 and PS3. PS4 has the "slight momentum edge" over the Xbox One in the US.
