In the space of a few hours, two of the largest PC gaming networks have been affected by reported DDoS attacks, with Steam following in the footsteps of a similar incident involving Origin.
Twitter users initially reported to have taken down EA's Origin servers in the early hours of the morning (tweets via Kotaku), and while there was no official confirmation regarding their claims, a post by EA on Twitter stated that the company were: "working to resolve connectivity/login issues affecting various platforms/games".
Since then another pair, again on Twitter, claimed responsibility for a similar attack on Valve's Steam service, with the PC platform experiencing disruption during the last day of its winter sale. The Twitter user in question, LARCENY_, posted an image of the software used in the reported attacks. Steam seems fine now, but several sites are reporting that there were issues accessing the store page in the early hours of this morning.
