PlayJam has confirmed that their portable Android console, GameStick, has been launched across the UK today, and it's available to buy from retailers for £79.99. The pint-sized console's launch comes after a delay the saw the launch pushed perilously close to missing the lucrative Christmas period.
"It's been a close run thing but we are delighted to have GameStick on the shelves in time for Christmas. Being honest, we could have had less daunting rivals vying for shelf space", confides Jasper Smith, CEO, PlayJam, "but we do have the added advantage of being in stock and aimed at a very different audience to your typical core gamer so we welcome the challenge!"
To get an idea of which games are going to be compatible with the Android-powered device, head this way. It's going to be a tough time for the console, with direct competition coming from Ouya, and of course the small matter of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launching just weeks ago.
