It is hard to believe that there are still plans to resurrect the Gizmondo, but Swede Carl Freer does not give up easy. With his former business partner Stefan Eriksson (aka Tjock-Steffe - or Fat Steve as it roughly translates) behind bars after his infamous Ferrari crash, Freer managed to reacquire the rights to Gizmondo late last year and is planning a relaunch.
Hans Sandberg, a Swedish journalist based in the States who has been covering the re-launch of Gizmondo closely, claims to have seen Gizmondo 2 (the old Gizmondo with better battery, better processor and new software) in his blog... well, when he thinks about it could just have been the old model he saw. Anyway, it's the closest thing to proof of life we have on Gizmondo 2. The re-launch of Gizmondo is according to Freer set for November or December this year.
We wish Carl and Gizmondo 2 the best of luck... they're going to need it. Hopefully they can stay away from Ferraris and mobsters this time around... that would be a start.
