The team behind Battlestar Galactica Online, Artplant, has just launch their new space-based MMO on Steam Early Access.

It's available at three different price points, starting at £14.99 and going up to £75.99. Purchasing any of the packs gets you instant access to the game, and those who spend £29.99 or more will not have their experience reset when the game comes out of beta.

Like similar games (Eve Online, the impending Star Citizen), Entropy offers players the chance to explore the stars (100 systems will be online during the early access stage of development), trade their way to wealth and prosperity, or blow things up in space-based dogfights.

"We're really excited to finally unveil Entropy to MMO fans; it's an ambitious title for us and we can't wait to see how players react to engaging in player-controlled, intergalactic dogfights for the very first time in a space-based MMO," said Artplant CEO Jack Wulf.

"Launching through Steam's Early Access programme will help ensure Entropy connects with its emergent community and utilise crucial feedback from players, enhancing the incredible gameplay experience we're building."
