Japanese developers Neverland, founded in 1993, and responsible for such franchises as Rune Factory and Lufia have announced they are ceasing operations and will file for bankruptcy in the near future as they have run out of funds (on their official website via NeoGAF).
Most recently Neverland released Rune Factory 4 (July 2012 in Japan) a game that is expected to release in Europe early next year (this is likely still possible). Neverland cites changes in the business environment as a reason for their detoriated financials and while they have sought to secure further funding they failed.
