While Valve are making a prototype of their own Steam Machine, the platform holder has also thrown the door open to other hardware manufacturers to create their own living room PCs.

Today we've got a first look at a second prototype Steam Machine, this one created by iBuyPower. As you can see from the screens below, it has a similar shape and size to the PlayStation 4, although the colour, light bar and giant Steam logo on the top of the casing sets it apart somewhat.

The pictures were published by Engadget, after they got to preview the prototype hardware. In the accompanying report it was confirmed that there are two models in development, codenamed Gordon and Freeman. Although no internal specs were released, the Steam Machine is said to run all Steam titles in 1080p at 60fps.

No release dates were mentioned either, but the CES 2014 watermark on the original images suggests we'll find out more at the Las Vegas-based event early next year.
