2011's Panzer Corps was a modern remake of the original Panzer General from 1994, and released to critical acclaim from players and critics alike. The hex-based strategy title found a good balance between depth and accessibility.
Siltherine has announced today that Panzer Corps 2 is in the works, utilising Unreal Engine 4 after five successful years of expansions, mods and tournaments with the prequel. They're dedicated to sticking to the traditional gameplay, but say that a "fully 3D engine is a natural evolution for the game" and that "hundreds of World War 2 units will be shown with a level of detail never seen before".
No doubt this news will delight those of you still committing hours to the original, including those still entering tournaments and competing at a high level. There's no word on a release date yet, but we'll be sure to let you know when there is.
