Oppenheimer composer goes viral after Oscars acceptance speech gaff

Ludwig Göransson became a two-time Oscar winner on Sunday, earning a deserved award for composing Oppenheimer's soundtrack. However, when Göransson took to the stage to accept his award, he said something that annoyed a lot of gamers.
"To my parents, thank you for giving me guitars and drum machines instead of video games," he said. Unsurprisingly, this dismissal of video games hasn't been taken well by the wider community, and while it might seem like a statement better suited to twenty years ago, there is the chance that Göransson was simply glad he was given things as a child that better suited his passions, rather than implying that video games are a waste of time.
Lots of people in the gaming industry have weighed in on this, including Gears of War creator Cliff Blezsinski, who said it was like comparing gymnastics to track.
