Rock Band-developer Harmonix has recently confirmed that the studio will add free DLC containing practice mode and the ability to create proper setlists in the beginning of next year. They have yet to confirm whether they are actually working on online multiplayer for Rock Band 4. but product manager Daniel Sussman wrote a blog post on the developer's website that stating they are very much aware of how badly the fans wants this, and that Harmonix are looking into how to do it in the future.

"Online play with Rock Band is a big deal given the amount of different combinations of player (four potential instruments, different difficulties, song affinities between players, etc). There is a ton of testing necessary as well technical back end to work through in order to provide a fun, stable experience."

Harmonix have been very clear all along that they consider Rock Band 4 a service that will evolve over the current console generation, rather than a game that will be succeeded by a sequel a year or two from now. That means there's a good possibilities we'll see online multiplayer at some point.

REVIEW. Written by Philip Lauritz Poulsen

"It's enjoyable solo, however, the game is by far at its most entertaining with other people involved, so the lack of online multiplayer is baffling."
