Oninaki's new trailer highlights Daemon Battle System

The Daemons form an integral part of the combat, and they can be upgraded and tweaked as the game progresses.

Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory's Oninaki has only just received a demo - gameplay of which you can see down below - but we also have a brand new trailer showing off the Daemon Battle System, which will form an integral part of the experience when it releases on August 22 next month for PC, PS4, and Switch.

Watcher Kagachi's Daemons offer different skills and enhancements, which become improved as you go, including upgrades and weapon customisation. You can switch these Daemons in and out in real-time during battles, and you can get a taste of what's on offer in the video below.

The game focuses on the Watcher's journey to protect Life, and the battles themselves are hack and slash. In fact, this fusion of elements is a result of Tokyo RPG Factory wanting to challenges themselves, and not long ago we got a separate trailer that was dedicated entirely to showing these Daemons off.

Oninaki

REVIEW. Written by Ingar Takanobu Hauge

"Oninaki could have been a great JRPG, but a poor script and dull characters make the whole thing a monotonous and repetitive affair."
