You may think the Nord 2 CE is a bit too basic, lacking that premium feel you want your new phone to have, but at the same time you think that £850 for the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro is too much. If so! The newly released OnePlus Nord 2T is the perfect compromise, for you. I'd say. Priced at £469, the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is the perfect bridge between OnePlus' budget variants and their top phone.

Let me start by praising the screen, which is a 6.4 inch 1080p AMOLED variant made by Samsung, it supports HDR10+ and is absolutely brilliant. 90Hz refresh rate and superb contrast/blackness are on offer and I really only have nice things to say about this screen. As for the cameras, it's the same gadgets as in its predecessor, the Nord 2. The same 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 with optical image stabilisation and the same optics as before. The second camera is an eight-megapixel wide-angle with 119-degree field of view with a Sony sensor, and they are good, consistently good. Dark images are fine, sharpness is brilliant as are the colours. The wide angle images aren't great compared to the best in the mobile world, but of course manufacturers have to compromise somewhere when, as in this case, they release a phone that costs less than half as much as the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro.

The design is, as usual when it comes to Oneplus, absolutely brilliant.

The processor is upgraded compared to its predecessor and the Nord 2T is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300, which is better than the previous CPU for gaming performance. I've played a whole range of new titles on the Nord 2T and have had zero problems and enjoyed how capable both the processor as well as the 90Hz display are, here. In addition to this, OnePlus has stuffed the Oppo SuperVooc fast charging system from the big brother 10 Pro into this phone and it's a brilliant feature. Charging from zero to 100% battery takes just under half an hour, which is superb and I hereby wish that all mobile phones regardless of price range catch up. The 4500 mAh battery is also really nice and means that I've only had to charge every other day, rather than every day - and that should be celebrated too, of course.

As for the design, OnePlus has really hit the nail on the head, again. The Nord 2T is very stylish and when you put it in your hand, everything from the dimensions to the choice of materials exudes quality, right through. I like the new shape of the camera with the two big black lens circles and I like the sparkling finish (black) that our test model is coated with. It doesn't attract fingerprints much at all and it's harder to lose your grip on than, say, the iPhone 13, which without a shell is rather slippery.

This is an ad:

As a whole, it's hard to find negative points here, and hard to find things to complain about. The OnePlus Nord 2T is a superb mid-range device with a brilliant screen, superb design, amazing fast charging, awesome performance and really nice material choices, and minus the fact that the sound feels a bit tinny/weak, this is a top product.

Superb design. Good choice of materials. Fast processor. Great screen. Fine camera. Very reasonable price. Phenomenally fast charging.

Wide-angle lens is mediocre. Semi-weak sound quality.
