The still widely popular MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, created by BioWare Austin and published by EA, is about to get its new expansion Knights of the Eternal Throne, which will launch on December 2. For its final pre-launch promotion, the team has opted for an impressively cinematic way of introducing the new content, as it's heavily focused on drama and strong narrative.

Behold Betrayed, the new trailer for the game:

The video was been well received by Star Wars fans over the weekend, with its high quality causing the inevitable comparisons to the official movies and other licensed productions such as animated series and other video games. It has to be said though that some fans think it doesn't looks like Star Wars at all, while others long for the often requested KotOR 3. Feel more than welcome to share your thoughts on this Force-training family drama in the comments section below.

The Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion is free for all SWTOR subscribers and here's an official description:

"Be the Outlander and command a team of hand-picked allies as you face one of the most dangerous families in Star Wars. Mother against daughter. Sister against brother. It's a fight for control of the throne. You decide who will live, who will die and who will rule the galaxy. Fight to influence the galaxy for the light or dark side of the Force!"

If you love the trailer same as many Star Wars fans, here's last year's Knights of the Fallen Empire CGI trailer, sporting a rather similar style and finish:
