The Square Enix developed RPG Octopath Traveler was one of many titles in the spotlight at last night's Nintendo Direct. After launching a demo early on in the Switch's life (still available on the Nintendo Switch eShop) Octopath Traveler will launch on July 13.
In the update, we learned of two new characters (of the 8 you'll follow in the game), Merchant Tressa, whose skill allows her to buy the possessions of NPCs, and Alfyn, an apothecary, who possess the inquire skill that lets him pry further into things and learn more information.
We also learned that you'll be able to equip each character with a secondary profession.
A special edition, called the Compendium Edition, will launch alongside the Standard edition and includes the game, a pop-up book, a map of Orsterra and a replica coin (no soundtrack in Europe).
