Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent delayed to 2020

Despite not getting a Western release date yet, we know that we'll have to wait a bit longer for this mobile title.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent may not yet be confirmed for a Western release, but its release on Japan has been delayed to 2020, with Square Enix wanting to make sure the additional content can be delivered in a regular fashion (thanks, Droid Gamers).

This mobile-exclusive title is a prequel to the acclaimed RPG from Square Enix that was released on Switch two years ago - Octopath Traveler.

Champions of the Continent will bring the same characters from the original game, plus new additions with more of the same gameplay. The main difference is that this one is a free-to-play game, so we're eager to see what kind of monetisation we will find here.

Of course, we all hope that this will also be released globally, and if that time comes, you will hear from us.
