With Microsoft proudly boasting about the six teraflops of GPU power that next year's Project Scorpio will bring to the table, much has been made of the return to the console arms race, with Sony also readying a 4K console of their own. It seems that both platform holders are committed to the 'more is more' mentality of old as they look to resume the next round of the hardware rivalry, but once again Nintendo is looking at things rather differently.
"For us, it's not about specs, it's not about teraflops, it's not about the horsepower of a particular system. For us, it's about the content," Nintendo of American president Reggie Fils-Aime said this week to Bloomberg. "We're focused on bringing our best entertainment to both the Wii U as well as the NX in the future. So for us, whatever Microsoft and Sony are doing in terms of talking about new systems, that's for them to fight out in that red ocean."
Nintendo's next console, NX, is set to launch next year. The system's specs have yet to be confirmed.
