Kotaku wrote an interesting column about the apparent absence of major sports titles on the release schedule for Wii U. Among their concerns was the lack of a Wii U version in the announcement of Madden NFL 14, but they also note that the next Tiger Woods title - due in March - has no Wii U version announced, and that is a franchise that used to be strong on the Wii platform.
"We're currently focused on delivering a great Tiger Woods PGA TOUR experience for our fans on the Xbox 360 and PS3, where we have a great opportunity to connect fans to the real world of golf and each other. We don't have any further platform announcements at this time."
EA did bring Madden NFL 13 and FIFA 13 to Wii U last fall, but it remains to be seen what sports products the Wii U will get this season.
