Nioh 2

Nioh 2 will reintroduce us to the series in early 2020

The new TGS trailer spilled the beans, while also showing us the same intense combat as we're used to.

Nioh's sequel was revealed all the way back at PlayStations E3 conference in 2018, but since then information has been scarce, aside from the fact that you get to make your own protagonist this time around, and that a closed alpha dropped earlier this year.

That said, Team Ninja and Sony have lifted the lid on Nioh 2 at the Tokyo Game Show with a brand new trailer, showing various enemies and the ways in which you can battle them. We also get a look at the characters and some of the supernatural elements, as well as the giant boss fights which should be the ultimate challenge.

Earlier this year we also received images showing us the "half-breed" hero we'll be playing as, since he merges his humanity with the power of a Yokai.

REVIEW. Written by Stefan Briesenick

"Nioh 2 is a very faithful sequel, but it doesn't dare to offer much in the way of innovation."
