Nintendo won E3 on Twitter thanks to Super Smash Bros.

Social media and livestreams have changed the way E3 and major press briefings are viewed. Big companies can talk directly to the fans and the masses, skipping traditional media. That is why audience data matters more and more. Twitch revealed a few days ago that Microsoft gathered most viewers of the pre-E3 conference, an all-time high, and now Twitter says that Nintendo was the one generating the most tweets.

The word Nintendo was the most tweeted of the last week, they revealed in a new blog post. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also ranks very high on the list and was the most tweeted newly-announced game. Finally, the the moments that generated the most conversation on the social network were the announcement of the release date and Ridley joining the battle.

Xbox was the second most tweeted word, three spots above Playstation. While Fallout 76, Kingdom Hearts III, The Elder Scrolls VI and Death Stranding were the games behind Super Smash Bros. This is the top 10:

By countries, United States was the one generating the most conversation on Twitter, as expected, followed by Japan. Time zones clearly play a large role, but from Europe the United Kingdom, Spain, and France completed the top five.
