Nintendo has shared its quarterly results today and updated its sales figures. The divisional cut was September 30, everything sold afterwards is counting towards the next quarter.

Even before the important holiday season, the hybrid console managed to sell over 40 million devices, currently putting it at 41.68 million units sold. Each owner of a console has an average of six games in their possession - 246 million pieces of software in total. Since the beginning of April, when the company last informed us about their sales figures, 7 million consoles and 60 million games have been added.

We were also able to look into the figures of the most recently released first-party software from Nintendo as well and noticed one particular adventure that was released only a few weeks ago. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening reaches 3.13 million sales in just nine days, which is likely a big success for Nintendo, not just because of the short measurement period. Fire Emblem: Three Houses currently stands at 2.29 million units, Super Mario Maker 2 (which appeared a month earlier) tops 3.93 million sales.
