Nintendo Switch price not fixed yet

It should be announced next year.

In May Nintendo announced that they won't take same risks as previous generations, meaning they won't sell consoles at a loss like they did with the Wii U. During today's quarterly financial report, president Tatsumi Kimishima reiterated this initiative for the Nintendo Switch, adding that listening to customers is key.

Takashi Mochizuki has been sharing quotes from the Japanese CEO, and according to Mochizuki, Kimishima underlines that the company "won't make loss by selling it; but [we're] also listening to what consumers expect from us when setting price".

The latter means that the final Nintendo Switch price isn't decided yet, and also that the manufacturer is looking at reactions and feedback from several circles. It'll be interesting to see whether the hybrid console is above or below the rumoured price of £349.99.

Regarding that final price confirmation, there are "no announcement planned about detailed Switch specs & price this year", so we can expect a price reveal next year. By then, as learnt during the same conference, Nintendo will have shipped 2 million Switches. How important is pricing for the Switch?
