The unique hybrid console that Nintendo's project NX may sport a rather convincing 720p resolution 6.2" screen as a handheld, as recently reported by the usually accurate with Nintendo leaks journalist Emily Rogers.

Little is known so far about the "new videogame experience" that Nintendo is about to unveil (with official launch planned for March 2017), but strongest rumours during this summer talked about a Nvidia's Tegra-powered handheld console with detachable controllers, cartridges as physical media and a docking station to turn it into a home console. More recent leaks from last week also mentioned the detachable controllers having motion and even force feedback features.

Now Rogers gives weight to both rumours and adds that one of the dev prototypes of the NX already sported this 720p 6.2" screen, which may or may not be true of the final product. Besides, Nintendo would finally ditch DS-3DS-Wii U style touch screen and go for the a multi-touch screen. Finally, the docking station for the NX would offer at least two USB ports.

The screen size/resolution combination seems like a rather nice choice if kept for the final product and as long as Nintendo manages to prevent NX from draining battery life even with the powerful but energy-efficient Tegra. For comparison, the screen size would be the same as the one on the 480p/158dpi Wii U Gamepad, but with highly improved pixel density- and also a significant leap from PS Vita's 5" 544p/220ppi screen.

What do you think of both the concept and the potential screen? Leave you comment below while you wait for Nintendo to officially unveil NX in September.
