Earlier this week we reported that both Microsoft and Sony are reportedly looking to move up to a third of their console production away from China to avoid the rising tariffs imposed by US president Donald Trump. Back then, we also mentioned that Nintendo has the same thoughts, and now this seems to have led to a decision to start manufacturing the Switch in Vietnam instead.
This was reported by Reuters, where a Japanese spokeswoman for Nintendo says that they have now decided "to shift part of the production of its Switch gaming console to Vietnam from China to diversify manufacturing sites".
Other tech companies considering moving production away from China are giants like Apple, Google, Lenovo, Acer, and Amazon. When and how this trade war end remains to be seen, but there will seemingly be pretty big consequences from all of this.
