Nintendo released some encouraging tidbits ahead of the official release of US NPD figures for the month of April. The Nintendo Switch continues to do well and was the best-selling console for the month with 280,000 units sold. In its first month on the market (March) Switch sold 906,000 units. If you combine the Switch numbers with those of the 3DS family (68,000) Nintendo says they had close to half the total of hardware sales for the month, leaving Microsoft and Sony to fight for the other half.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the best-selling game of the month in spite of releasing just a day prior to the cut-off (April 29). It sold 460,000 physical copies and 90,000 digital ones for a total of 550,000 copies in April. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the third best-selling game of the month according to Nintendo.
It certainly appears as if Nintendo's fortunes have turned around.
