Nicolas Cage is set to play John Madden in the Prime Video biopic

There are many famous and much-loved American sports figures across a wide range of sports, but there is only one figure who, as a player, coach, and sports presenter, is known throughout the world: John Madden. A true legend in his own country and a recognisable figure from the NFL video game series - which, even today, following his death in 2021, remains the best-selling series in the US - Madden will forever be linked to the history of sport in his country, and now Amazon MGM Studios wants to show us the most intimate and personal side of this figure.

Madden, a biopic coming exclusively to Prime Video on 18 November, will tell the story not only of his professional successes, but also of his friendship with fellow renowned NFL coach Al Davis and his relationship with his family. And to play John Madden, they've enlisted none other than Nicolas Cage, who also introduces the film in a trailer announcing the release date, which you can watch below.

Oh, and Al Davis is played by Christian Bale, so the cast is already top-class. Will you be watching Madden when it premieres on 18 November?
