Niantic celebrate Pokémon Go's second anniversary

Pikachu puts on his shades.

Two years after Pokémon Go's launch of Pokémon Go, Niantic is preparing to celebrate its second anniversary with some extras. Starting today, Friday July 6 and until July 31, Pokémon trainers all around the world will see more of Pichu and Pikachu in the wild. There's also a special trendy summer version of Pikachu that you'll no doubt want to catch.

For players who own a Pikachu Fan gold medal, they will also have the opportunity to acquire special items for their avatar, including new accessories and t-shirts. As already reported, Celebi will be the new Legendary Pokémon and will be the protagonist of a new quest in Special Research, in the near future. As for the other news expected for the current month, we remind you that the trainers will have a new chance to capture the legendary creature Articuno in Raid Battles this Saturday, July 7, but only for a few hours. On Sunday 8th July a new Pokémon Go Community Day will be scheduled in which Squirtle will be the special guest, whose presence will be more frequent during the event and it will wear sunglasses too.
