Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

Ni no Kuni II gets both free and paid expansions

And the first one is coming next month.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom was much liked here at Gamereactor, and you can read our review right here to find out why. Level-5 had promised that there would be expansions coming the future, and now we know a bit more about the studio's plans.

On August 9 we're getting the Adventure Pack, and it will be a free download. In it we'll get more floors in the Faraway Forest. After clearing them we'll get costumes for Evan and other characters. There will also be two challenging bosses: Blackhart and Zeta. Finally, "additional quests will be unlocked after completing the story and unique rewards can be acquired".

The second DLC is coming "this winter" and will feature a new puzzle dungeon. As the announcement explains, "players will face a series of difficult challenges and powerful enemies while trying to reach for the deepest floors - with great rewards awaiting those that do!"

Finally, a third DLC is expected early next year, and it will have "new exciting content and game features - as well as a whole new story expansion".

All told we don't know too much about Ni no Kuni II's upcoming DLC. Let's hope that we'll get more information at Gamescom or during Tokyo Game Show this autumn. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is available for PS4 and PC, and you can check out a fresh bunch of screenshots below.
