A recent presentation by Sony Interactive Entertainment's President and CEO Jim Ryan has been shared on ResetEra this week, and that's because it gives us details on the PlayStation strategy moving forward, as well as updating us on key areas.
This includes sales figures, as we find out here that God of War has passed 10 million sales, joining the likes of Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and The Last of Us: Remastered, both of which achieved higher sales than previous entries in their franchises.
In the same presentation we also find out that there are over 94 million PlayStation Network monthly active users (MAU), and over 90% of all consoles ever have connected over the last 12 months. Players used the PS4 for over 21 hours per week on average in the last financial year as well, and consumer spend through the PS4 ecosystem was estimated at over $20 billion USD for the first time in the same period.
Just recently we received a documentary providing an insight into creating the PS4-exclusive God of War game, and with plenty of awards and accolades under its belt we wouldn't be surprised to see the sales numbers grow for this title.
Have you played God of War yet?
