Mortal Kombat 11 has just released this week, and despite some criticisms surrounding its grind for content, at the 2019 GamesBeat Summit (brought to us by VentureBeat) Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad revealed that the game had the best launch in the history of the franchise.

"I couldn't be more proud of that team and what they've done and the innovations they've brought to [Mortal Kombat]," he said, although he didn't provide numbers on the sales. He did say, however, that Mortal Kombat 11 was the largest launch in the history of Warner Bros. Games in the Americas, and that there are "years of new content" planned.

Just recently co-creator of the series Ed Boon responded to claims that buying all the skins in Mortal Kombat 11 would cost over $6,000 USD, saying that the team built the game so that players can earn skins as they play.

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"It's a fine version of the game. Sadly, the controller options the Switch provides aren't great."
