Earlier this month it emerged that Bungie was disabling the Wavesplitter weapon on Destiny 2 for players on PC and Xbox One who had purchased it from Xur after the PS4 timed exclusive gun was accidentally made available, and now some new information has emerged courtesy of Jason Schreier speaking on the Kotaku podcast.
Here Schreier claims that Bungie wanted to let players carry their Destiny 2 character over from consoles to PC - since the latter version launched after the console editions - but that Sony wouldn't let it happen, because they allegedly wanted players to associate the game with the PS4 platform.
This isn't confirmed to be true, so take it with a pinch of salt, but Schreier is a trusted insider source with a proven track record.
Sony has come under fire more and more in recent times, since back in February Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden claimed the company was "open" to cross-play, something that some devs disagreed with at the time, and earlier this month nWay CEO Taehoon Kim said the company is "getting a lot of pressure to open up".
Do you think this is true?
