When Borderlands 3 was finally confirmed last week at PAX East, we were promised more details on the game on April 3. Well, that day has finally arrived, and we now have confirmation of the leaked release date of September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

What's more is that we also get a deeper look at the game via a new trailer which you can see down below, showing new gameplay:

"For the past several years, the team at Gearbox Software has been devoting every ounce of our passion, creativity and love into making Borderlands 3 the biggest, baddest and most ambitious Borderlands adventure we've ever made," said Gearbox Software President and CEO Randy Pitchford. "Borderlands 3 is being crafted not only as a love letter to fans of the series, but also as an ideal entry point for new players to jump-in alone or cooperatively, on or off-line, in the latest and greatest installment of the definitive best-in-class benchmark shooter-looter."

"Borderlands is one of the most recognized and celebrated franchises in gaming," added 2K President David Ismailer. "We're proud of the work and dedication of our partners at Gearbox, who are making a game that will not only reignite the millions of existing Borderlands fans but welcome a new generation of players into this beloved universe."

Four new Vault Hunters are coming with this game, each with their own skills trees, abilities, and customisation options, and as you would expect you can play the game in co-op as well. If you want more details, you'll just have to hang on until a Gameplay Reveal Event stream on May 1, which will give an extended look at gear, characters, story, and more.

In the press release we also got confirmation of another leak, as the game will be coming to PC exclusively via the Epic Games Store, arriving on other PC digital storefronts in April next year, meaning it's a timed exclusivity deal similar to what we've seen with other games on PC.

Borderlands 3 has also been developed with AMD though, meaning it can take advantage of powerful PC hardware and is optimised for top performance with Radeon graphics cards and Ryzen CPUs.

"The PC gaming community has been an important part of the success of the Borderlands series, and we are excited to be partnering with Epic who recognize its worldwide popularity and share in our commitment to bring Borderlands 3 to this rapidly expanding audience," explained Ismailer. "Our mission, in addition to delivering the most engaging and captivating entertainment experiences, is to embrace new distribution platforms that will contribute to our effort to grow the audience for Borderlands 3."

That's not all though, as there are multiple editions available right now to pre-order, with the Standard Edition coming with the base game, and pre-order incentives granting you access to gold weapon skins and weapon trinket. The Deluxe Edition, however, includes extra digital content (on top of the same pre-order bonus):

Retro Cosmetic Pack: Vault Hunter head & skin, Echo Device skin, weapon skin
Neon Cosmetic Pack: Vault Hunter head & skin, Echo Device skin, weapon trinket
Gearbox Cosmetic Pack: weapon skin, weapon trinket
Toy Box Weapon Pack: 2 Toy guns, Toy grenade mod, weapon trinket
XP & Loot Drop Boost Mods

Then there's the Super Deluxe Edition, coming with all the bonus digital content and pre-order incentives plus the Season Pass, including four campaign DLC packs with new stories, missions, and challenges, as well as a Butt Stallion weapon skin, trinket, and grenade mod.

The biggest edition you can get, however, is the Diamond Loot Chest Collector's Edition, containing all of the previous content mentioned, plus a Diamond Loot Chest Replica with a functional lid; 10 Borderlands 3 figurines, including the four new Vault Hunters, Calypso Twins, and more (standing at 3" tall); a Sanctuary 3 snap model to build yourself; four Vault Key keychains; a cloth galaxy map; five character art lithographs featuring the Vault Hunters and Calypso twins; and a steelbook case.

Alongside all these big Borderlands 3 announcements we have the launch of the Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition as well, landing on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We already knew this was coming, but this brings the game and all added content to these platforms, and we've also got Ultra HD Texture Packs for Borderlands 2; Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel; and all the add-ons for both games on PC.

Which platform will you be playing on, and with what edition?
