It has been discovered that Nintendo, Pokémon developer GameFreak, and Creatures have recently filed the name Monpoké for trademark. What does this mean though? Well, it points to the ever-popular franchise once again looking to expand into the different avenue of baby apparel.

The news about the trademarked brand name was first discovered on ResetEra, where fans were speculating about what this new trademarked name could be about. However, following a tweet on the Monpoké Japanese Twitter account, we discover that the trademarked name will be representing Pokémon's first official baby brand for "new generation moms and dads".

On the official site for Monpoké, the plans for the brand are shown as being more than just an apparel range, as they want children to "grow into a rich heart" whilst having "a lot of first time experiences". Whilst we know what the brand is meant to be, more information is yet to be revealed as they are most likely saving it for the official product reveal.

The first showings of the brand will take place at the Maternity and Baby Festa in 2019 in Japan on April 6-7, where the Monpoké booth will exhibit some of the products that will be available at launch. Still, due to this impromptu announcement of the brand, details are still being kept quite close to the chest.

This is a good time to be revealing more merchandise for the series as well, as Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have finally been revealed as the next mainline entry in the series.

Will you be picking up any of this Pokémon apparel?
