Fans of System Shock have had a good week, as not only was there a System Shock 3 teaser at Unity's keynote during the Game Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, but now we have 20 minutes of new gameplay from the remake of the first game, being worked on by Nightdive Studios.

This gameplay below brings us the Medical Level in all its remade glory, showing off pre-alpha footage from the game as it continues development. This of course means everything is subject to change, but right now the graphical improvements like lighting are looking promising for the sci-fi game.

"Our intention is to ship exactly the game that was promised, with as much of the features that were promised as we can, in a timeframe that will get it out as fast as we can. Our expectation is probably Q1 of 2020," Nightdive told PC Gamer last year.

There's a long way to go for the remake then, but with System Shock 3 halfway done it's only a waiting game until we get these two titles and can experience the horror all over again, new and old.

Do you think this gameplay looks promising?
