System Shock as a series has been around for ages, inspiring spiritual sequels like Bioshock since the release of System Shock 2, but OtherSide Entertainment has finally shown off a little bit more about the third game via a teaser trailer coming from the Unity keynote at the Game Developer Conference (GDC).

It's a very short teaser, but it gives a good sense of the visuals and the monsters that'll be stalking the hallways. We also get a lot of atmosphere with the low lighting, and there's the hostile AI that we're so used to seeing, which has almost become an emblem for the series itself.

We still don't know when the game is coming, but Unity has clearly made the game look very good, and anticipation is still high despite the poor reception of OtherSide Entertainment's Underworld Ascendant from last year (check out our review to see why).

With the game being halfway done, as revealed last month, all we can do is wait to see the series return after two decades.

Do you have high hopes after seeing this?
