God of War leads the way in BAFTA Game Award nominations

Kratos' latest adventure had 10 nominations, with others like Red Dead Redemption 2, Florence, and Return of the Obra Dinn also being celebrated.

A new press release has just revealed the nominations for the British Academy Game Awards (otherwise known as the BAFTA Game Awards) ahead of the event on April 4, and God of War leads the way with 10 nominations, while Red Dead Redemption 2, Florence, and Return of the Obra Dinn all have six.

Celeste is a game that's also being celebrated with five nominations, and in terms of the only award voted by the public - EE Mobile Game of the Year - we have Fortnite, Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Old School RuneScape, Roblox, and Pokémon Go.

In the Best Game category God of War has competition from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Astro World: Rescue Mission, Celeste, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Return of the Obra Dinn, so there is a lot of variety in there for Kratos to contend with.

The ceremony itself - a part of next month's London Games Festival - will be hosted by Dara O'Briain at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and if you want to watch you can find out how right here. If you're more interested in the nominations though, make sure to check those out in full here.
