Fortnite is getting its very own one-seater hamster ball

We might have embellished a little with the headline but The Baller, a hamster ball-like vehicle that reminds us somewhat of the gyrosphere from Jurassic World, is being added to Fortnite, Epic has just confirmed in the latest patch notes for the latest update to the supremely popular battle royale.

The new ride, which you can see in the image below, is the headline addition to the game, but Epic is also making vending machines free but a one-time-only deal, there's a new time-limited mode called The Getaway, additions have been made to the creative mode, and there are some slight revisions to cross-play matchmaking.

Regarding The Baller, the single-seat ride will protect the driver, but it's still vulnerable to damage (it has 300 health). Players will find it at "Expedition Outposts and around pirate camp loot stashes", and apparently we'll be able to use the grappler and boost to "pull yourself up cliffs or swing through the trees". Sounds like fun.
