Do you remember Nintendogs? It used to be all the rage to care for a virtual pet on your Nintendo DS, but while those pets might have gone to live on a farm a long time ago, Imagineer is looking to resurrect this experience with their game Little Friends: Dogs and Cats for the Switch.

Sold Out is publishing this game, which is coming to Europe and North America this spring to let you choose from six breeds of puppy and three kittens. Once these critters are yours, you can feed them, play with them, and of course dress them up, as you can see in the trailer and screenshots below.

It's not just about life in the home either, as you'll need to walk your dogs and you can even compete in a flying disc tournament if you're feeling particularly daring. They'll need to look the part, but with over 600 accessories there should be no shortage of choice.

You can have up to three pets at the same time, or if that's not enough there's a hotel to keep up to 12 animals, all of which you can get to know in terms of personality and preferences.

"Little Friends: Dogs & Cats is an adorable pet simulator that we hope animal lovers of all ages will fall in love with," said Katie Clark, Product Manager at Sold Out. "There's a huge appetite out there for pet simulation titles, and we're so excited to be releasing the first game of its type on Nintendo Switch. We can't wait for players to meet their new little friends!"

"Following the game's successful launch in Japan, partnering with Sold Out to bring Little Friends: Dogs & Cats to a western audience was the perfect opportunity," added Mr. Kayanuma from Imagineer.

Will you be caring for virtual pets on the go once more?

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"Perhaps younger players may find some joy here, but for those looking for some pet sim nostalgia, we'd recommend dusting off that old DS."
