When Bioware and EA said they had teamed up with Neill Blomkamp to make a "live action short" for Anthem earlier this week we kind of expected ten minutes or more of Freelancers saving a group of people or something. The bad news is that we got less than four minutes of footage, while the good news is that there's a lot more story in there than we expected.

That's because Blomkamp's short functions more like what we'd call a trailer for what could have been mistaken for a real Anthem movie. Despite having multiple time jumps that leave us guessing how certain situations end up where they do, it's clear that the talented director and writer has some interesting ideas for a potential future movie adaptation of Bioware's anticipated game and its universe.

Would you like to see a full-length movie based on Anthem after watching this or the other trailers?

Anthem

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It engages and entertains even if it is a rather distilled and disjointed experience compared to the studio's usual work."
