February marks the five year anniversary of the Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us, which was released on the February 14 and saw players control Ellie exclusively in an expansion set before the main game, acting as a prequel to the events of The Last of Us.
That expansion is now getting a vinyl soundtrack release to mark the anniversary, alongside a reissue of the main game soundtrack, via Mondo Tees.
Created by award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla, the pair of soundtracks serve as tone-setting companions to the game itself. Eerie yet powerful, the music created for The Last of Us is a companion to the dark atmosphere the game sets.
The two soundtrack releases sit alongside a vinyl available for The Last of Us: Part 2, the upcoming sequel. We can't recall another time a soundtrack has been released before a game has been given its initial release date, but here we are. All editions of the soundtrack come with intricately detailed artwork from The Last of Us' universe, and the Part 2 soundtrack is expect to ship this month too.
Orders begin on February 14, as we're told by Naughty Dog's own tweet, so if you loved the DLC and this series in general then make sure to pay attention on Valentines Day.
Will these soundtracks tie you over until The Last of Us: Part 2? Perhaps the pictures below might convince you.
