Rainbow Six: Siege is used to getting new content every three months as part of their Operations, introducing new features like Operators and updates, and just recently we got a tease on Twitter for the first season kicking off the fourth year of content.
On top of that the official website for the game has revealed that Year Four Season One will feature two Operators from the SASR in Australia, with one being "a stoic Attacker who's just there to get the job done, and the other is a quick-witted Defender who's in it for the guts and glory. Two old mates from way back, they've signed up with Rainbow to bring a little Aussie know-how to the other side of the world. This includes a new device that'll keep roaming Defenders on their toes, and one that'll leave Attackers at a bit of a loss."
What could this all mean in practice though? Well, we'll have to wait and see, because the Rainbow Six Twitch channel is hosting a full reveal on Sunday, February 17, which coincidentally is the day of the Grand Final of the Six Invitational competition in Montreal.
It's not actually a coincidence in reality, because this is what's happened in the past few years, with Ubisoft revealing content at their esports competitions, especially their biggest one in Montreal. Speaking of which, you can get a taste of what's coming competitively in the new trailer down below.
Gamereactor will be there in person to cover the Canadian event, so be sure to tune in for our own content, esports or otherwise.
