The Steam Awards have just unveiled the grand winners of all of their various categories, and while it might be a little later than most other awards looking back on 2018, these various categories let Steam users choose who was victorious in each category, including Game of the Year of course.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds was the game to win the highest honour of all, beating the likes of Monster Hunter: World and Hitman 2 to get the Chicken Dinner. When it comes to the Better With Friends award though, Rainbow Six: Siege won in a category filled with great multiplayer experiences.

VR Game of the Year went to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, while the Labor Of Love award went to Grand Theft Auto V, a game that's still winning awards despite first releasing in 2013.

CD Projekt Red wasn't forgotten though, as they won Best Developer and Best Environment for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the former of which is probably due in no small part to the ever-expanding anticipation around their upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077.
