Best Buy Canada unveils Death Stranding's launch window?

Could the game be out towards the end of the year? The Canadian-arm of the retailer certainly seems to think so.

It's now been several months since we last got concrete information about Death Stranding, the highly anticipated next game by Hideo Kojima. Although the game director has been visiting various studios around the world, not least a visit to Guerrilla Games after which managing director and co-founder Hermen Hulst had only kind words to say after seeing a demo of the game, we still have no official information about the studio's launch plans.

However, in the past few hours, one href="https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathStranding/comments/ahpt08/hmmmmmm/" target="_blank">Reddit user</a> has shared an image that could give us some insight into the possible launch window for the game. It seems that the Canadian branch of Best Buy has started to distribute pre-order download cards for the game, with a price of $79.99 and a placeholder date of December 31, 2019.

This has caused many to hope that the game will come out before the end of the year, (and not just because in the past Best Buy has turned out to be fairly accurate when it comes to accidental leaks), but obviously we advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt because there's nothing official to report.

Finally, while we're on the subject of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima recently went to Finland and while he was there he had the opportunity to visit Remedy Entertainment, and there he met Sam Lake, who shared a photo with the developer via Twitter. The image was accompanied by the following caption:

"With @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN @Kojima_Hideo. He is an inspiration. #DeathStranding dares to push the boundaries. It's wonderful to be able to compare notes. Happy and honored to call him a friend"

Statements like this do nothing but increase the level of expectation that's building around the game, and we hope to find out more about Death Stranding in the near future.
