Yesterday it was revealed that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will stray from the From Software formula by offering no penalties for dying, also featuring a skill tree for improving your character, although it would seem that one familiar structural element is indeed returning - the hub area.

As revealed by Game Informer, the hub area in the game will be called Dilapidated Temple, and will contain functionality that should be instantly familiar to Souls players.

In the temple players can advance quests, fast travel to other parts of the world, and improve their character in various ways. Furthermore, the temple will be home to a number of NPC characters who can assist the player in a variety of ways, and offer narrative context in the process.

For instance, The Immortal Soldier will be your sparring partner, while Emma can upgrade your gourd. Lastly, you can save people in the world that will then populate the temple, sort of like a base camp that you can populate.

Does this idea sound cool?

REVIEW. Written by Stefan Briesenick

"The sheer presence and power of these warriors make Sekiro's sense of play feel unique even within the confines of FromSoftware's past works."
