Rumour: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 has battle royale

Ever since we got our hands on Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, we've been eager to find out if and how the next game would tackle the battle royale genre, and thanks to some alleged leaked information, we might have received the juicy info we've been waiting for.

In a short video released on gaming YouTuber Chaos' Twitter account, several details about the new Call of Duty - which is apparently Modern Warfare 4 - were revealed. While this information lines up with pre-existing rumours (and is certainly exciting), these details aren't supported with any solid evidence, so take what is said with a mountain of salt.

The video in question reveals the inclusion of a battle royale game mode, and that it will be roughly the same size as Blackout's map. What's apparently special about the map, however, is that almost half of it will be snowy terrain and will contain snowmobiles to make traversing this huge icy area easier, similar to the iconic levels in Modern Warfare 2.

Similarly to Black Ops 4, Modern Warfare 4 will also feature fan-favourite characters from previous entries in the series, which means that you may just get to play as Captain Price or Soap once again.

The video doesn't just cover battle royale either, as according to the short video the game will be focused on multiplayer rather than single-player content, hence why there is just a remastered version of the original Modern Warfare 2 campaign with no additional missions (although excluding the controversial 'No Russian' mission).

The game will apparently also be introducing specialists for the first time in Modern Warfare history, and will incorporate the "pick 10" class system introduced in Black Ops 2.

Finally, the leaks adds that this is the last in the series, and with popular characters making a return and a battle royale map for fans to mess around in, it looks like Modern Warfare 4 might be a triumphant end to the series.
