Supermassive Games is a studio hard at work on The Man of Medan, the first instalment in their anthology horror series The Dark Pictures, but that's not all we can expect from them, as they've also announced the cinematic thriller Shattered State for Daydream.

Shattered State is developed in partnership with Google and "features a compelling storyline, blockbuster production values and a branching narrative to deliver an immersive gaming experience that sets the benchmark for cinematic VR gaming on mobile devices," according to the press release.

In the game you play as the Director of the National Intelligence Agency during a national crisis, and you need to make big decisions to change the fate of the country. There's a branching narrative, as you might expect from the same people who made Until Dawn, and multiple playthroughs are also encouraged in the same way.

Simon Harris, Executive Producer of VR Games at Supermassive, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Google to bring our acclaimed storytelling and production values to Daydream. This partnership has enabled us to create a game which we believe sets a new benchmark for mobile VR."

This isn't Supermassive's first foray into the world of virtual reality though, as Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and The Inpatient all expanded the Until Dawn universe via the medium, focusing on action and narrative respectively.

The press release didn't mention a release date, but as we can see on the Google Play Store page, it has actually already launched on compatible devices, and we can see a launch trailer down below.
