It was only a matter of time, wasn't it? Capcom was always bound to release a major expansion for its most successful game to date, Monster Hunter: World. Iceborne, is the name of the expansion that's set to release on consoles next autumn (no timeline available for PC just yet). According to Capcom-Unity, it will feature everything you'd expect from a "massive expansion", namely, "new environments, new monsters, a new quest difficulty rank, new moves, and much more".

Check out the teaser for Iceborne below:

But Capcom has plenty of plans for free updates between now and Iceborne. Including a collaboration with another monster hunting game of sorts, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This crossover event will see Geralt of Rivia join the game along with some brand new custom-made quests that mix in certain elements of The Witcher into the Monster Hunter experience. This content will launch sometime in the spring.

Other upcoming content includes Arch-tempered monsters for that extra challenge (the first one, Arch-tempered Kulve Taroth drops December 20), and the upcoming Appreciation Fest during January (basically an anniversary event).

If you still haven't tasted what Monster Hunter: World has to offer there's going to be a chance to join the hunt for free between December 11 and December 17 with the Trial Version. It will let you enjoy the full game experience up until Hunter Rank 4 (3 Star quests).

Are you a hunter and if so what do you think of Capcom's post-launch support for the game?
