Square Enix has revealed the third expansion pack - called Shadowbringers - for their MMO Final Fantasy XIV Online, which will arrive next summer and allow players to become Warriors of Darkness, as revealed during the Fan Festival in Las Vegas by director Naoki Yoshida.

As expected there will be plenty of new content with the expansion, like a new player race, jobs, an increased level cap, new areas, tweaks to the battle system, and plenty more. We'll also get to see new systems, one of which is the NPC Trust System, which sees you fight alongside familiar NPCs. There's also New Game+, which allows you to replay the main scenario stories, as well as the World Visit System, where you can travel to other servers on the same data center.

Yoshida also revealed the blue mage coming to the game with patch 4.5, available to those who have A Realm Reborn, have reached level 50 as a Disciple of War or Magic, and have completed the 2.0 main scenario. This lets players learn monster actions and progress through content specific to the blue mage, with new content for the job coming in the future.

We'll be getting more details on Shadowbringers at the Paris Fan Festival from February 2 to 3, as well as at the Tokyo Fan Festival between March 23 and 24, but for now are you happy with what you've seen?
