Goat Simulator devs Coffee Stain bought by THQ Nordic

THQ Nordic has been picking up studios, IPs, and competitors (Koch Media) left and right as of late. A strong war chest after going public has made it possible and today we first learned they've bought Wreckfest developer Bugbear, and it was also announced that Coffee Stain Studios, developer of games like Sanctum, Goat Simulator, and the upcoming Satisfactory, as well as publisher with games like Deep Rock Galactic and Huntdown in their portfolio, has also been added to THQ Nordic's growing stable.

The deal is said to be worth approximately €30 million with additional bonuses that might be triggered if certain things fall in place. Most of the Coffee Stain founders, including CEO Anton Westbergh, will continue at Coffee Stain.

The studio's next big title, Satisfactory, is a first-person factory building simulation that looks rather spectacular and is expected to release in 2019. Another major game is Deep Rock Galactic, already on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview, that's marching forward towards full release.
