Rockstar reacts to Camp bug in Red Dead Redemption 2

Players have been reporting characters missing.

Rockstar has confirmed the existence the Camp bug in Red Dead Redemption 2. This week players started to report missing characters from the campsite, characters such as John, Jack, Sadie, and Abigail. While some leave the camp from time to time, the bug caused the characters to go missing for whole chapters.

"We understand your concern regarding the missing storyline characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Mode", Rockstar writes in a reaction. "Please be informed that, if the missions "Polite Society" and "Valentine Style" are failed, restart the mission instead of using the "Retry Checkpoint" option. If you have already completed the mission after using the "Retry Checkpoint" option, they will not be present until the start of Chapter 4. We hope you understand."

Rockstar will likely fix the bug in an upcoming patch. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PS4 and Xbox One. If you haven't yet check out our review and guide for beginners.
