One of the more interesting titles that we've seen recently is PC-bound Seed, a game described by creator-in-chief Mundi Vondi as an "epic multiplayer simulation" where players come together to build complex societies in a persistent online world (powered by SpatialOS).

According to Vondi, Seed is a life simulator where "countless stories" are being generated by the characters being indirectly controlled by players, with the big decisions player-driven while their characters live out their lives, making their own decisions in the process.

"It's a game where you have characters that live in the game whether you're actually playing or not. So they go about their daily lives, and they have characteristics and AI that drives them forward," Vondi told us in Cologne.

"So your goal is to work with other players to build big societies and communities that cater to the needs of your characters. Much like real people they wanna socialise, have fun. But for you to progress they obviously need to work, and so you're trying to keep them happy while also getting them to work as much as possible. And so it's kind of a work-life balance that you're trying to strike by scheduling their day and prioritising getting them hired in jobs."

It's not all work and no play, as the characters in the world created by Klang Games interact with each other, even getting into trouble when they get it wrong.

"We can be pretty flawed as people," Vondi added, "and those are the things we try to hone in on, so the characters keep making mistakes and getting in trouble - and you're going to have to fix their mess sometimes."

Consider us intrigued.
